"Portraits are possibly my first love. I started with drawing eyes as a kid and worked on building my features. I wasn't like kids today that I teach that are learning how to draw with my instruction and youtube videos a plenty. But, I loved to draw and kept a sketchbook from a very young age. I built my skills from doing lots of drawing and learning by trial and error. However in High School I had the most terrific art teachers, specifically, Mr. Roberts, who guided me as a mentor throughout my life. 

 

I did and have always done portraits throughout my years in college and grad school and ever since. I have expanded in subjects of houses and places and pets, because I love giving these pieces of history. They are the most special gifts to get and receive since they are so personal and meaningful to the recipient."
